Happy New Year and Welcome to an Authentic 2025!
Using your body to guide your transformation. It's an amazing tool that we all carry.
Ever since my teens I would get a feeling of how the year ahead would be for me on New Year’s Eve. Not in detail, more of a vibe or feeling. I remember I would stand at midnight with my father, looking up into the cold night sky. Connect with the feeling of something new coming and the vastness of the universe, before the firework started. It was a lovely moment and we both had the same awe and respect for the unknown above us. Sometimes we spoke and told stories or shared questions. Other times we would just be still in that special moment, not having to say anything. My mother would be inside with the rest of the family, and guest, getting us ready for the celebrations. I feel so grateful that my father took me out these moments before, to be present and connect.
In those moments I would get a feeling of my year to come. In the beginning I didn’t think much about it more than it felt real and important. Something I should remember. The vibe always turned out to be right. Now some may argue that I set an intention that I followed. However, I had no idea about what intention setting was back in those days, nor did it come from my mind. It was a deeper feeling that I didn’t ask or look for. It just showed up.
Fast forward many years this feeling started to morph into words. Now I would get a word, like a theme for my year to come. Not always one I understood until a big part of the year had passed and not always about love and sunshine. Since I didn’t always understand the words meaning at start, I wouldn’t add any negative or positive energy to it.
Going even further to today, it has now transformed to me getting a preview some time before New Years, with one or several words. The theme is still accurate every year, when I look back. Now I also treat it as a guiding light for me, since I’ve gone deeper into the world of energies and open my channel further.
This year I got three words, and one was Authenticity. That was the strongest of the three. At first, I felt it so deep within and it felt so right. Then my mind came in and wanted to discuss this word, saying aren’t you authentic already? Haven’t you worked with that for a long time? What does this mean?
This is the beauty I feel of connecting to your heart and soul, that it goes beyond your mind. Telling you how it is. Then it is up to you whether you want to take that information onboard or leave it for another day.
Sure, I absolutely feel that I have gotten closer to my pure self and being authentic. I do also know that there is still work to be done and I hope I never stop expanding my journey. I understand that parts of me have been held back for different reason. Parts that are beneath my consciousness and a bit harder to find. It could be in any area of life, or all. Time will tell and now those parts now want to come forth.
I’m excited to explore what it will mean, and I do know that the deeper you connect with your heart, and soul the closer you get to live your purpose, befriend your life force and step into that authentic self. The one where you just are instead of trying to be. The one where you feel comfortable and peaceful no matter what life throws at you. Where you trust your journey and walk your talk.
We are in a time where we have a lovely variety of ways to connect with ourselves and it’s up to each and everyone of us to find what works in different moments. Remember to be kind to yourself on this journey. Be true and listen to what your body is telling you and do your best to follow that direction even if you mind or trends and society is pointing in another direction. .
One example of how my body bypassed my mind is when I stopped drinking in 2010. In my latest pod episode, I’ll tell that story and how it has affected my inner journey and being one step closer to my authentic self.
What’s your feeling for 2025? And if you have’t asked yet, why not now!
Joy, Love and Gratitude
